Variegated Japanese Silver Grass is a moderate sized ornamental grass plant. This ornamental grass reaches approximately five feet tall and wide. The variegated grass blades are green with white edges. When the plant reaches summer maturity, you will notice feather-like salmon to silver plumes rising above the plant. This decoration complements the variegated leaves well.
This variety of ornamental grass does an excellent job of staying within its growing area. The clump form of this grass is maintained, and there is little spreading. Variegated Japanese Silver Grass does grow large grass blades that will tend to lay over because of their length and weight. When the grass blades layover, interest is added to the plant. This grass variety is well maintained and does not make a mess like other ornamental grass varieties do.
Variegated Japanese Silver Grass prefers full sun exposure. To encourage the best results for your plant, make sure that you do not install it in shaded areas. This grass also does well in most average soil conditions. Watering may be required during extreme heat or drought conditions.
