What plants should you use for spring planting?

Your design may be simple and only encompass one variety of plant.  This is quite simple and only requires a proper head count of the plants.  If you are creating a design that encompasses several different types of annual flowers, they you will need to break your project out into separate sections when you are figuring plant material.  First figure out the square footage of growing area that each plant is going to be planted in.  Then calculate how large each plant will grow or spacing in inches.  If you have trees you can deduct for them as well.  Once all of your information is entered in the calculator, you can calculate the number of plants that you will need.  If you are trying to fill in the space with the least amount of plants, choose annuals that grow wide.  You will need less plants to fill in the same amount of space.  You can also purchase larger plants to start with, this will also affect the design as well.
