Double Knock Out Rose ® produces bright red flowers that continually bloom from spring to fall. The slightly fragrant flowers of this plant are about the size of a golf ball. This rose variety is a low maintenance plant that has many disease resistant qualities. Double Knock Out Rose ® is resistant to black spot and downy mildew leaf diseases.
One of the drawbacks of this rose is that it is susceptible to Japanese Beetle damage. During the summer, beetles will feed on the foliage and flowers of this plant. The damage can be devastating if left untreated. A broad spectrum insecticide such as Seven can prevent Japanese Beetles from destroying your plant. Since this plant is deciduous, it will re-leaf the following year. If the damage is currently present your plant, you can take preventative measures the following year to prevent a repeat.
If you are looking for a rose plant to install in your landscape, consider the Double Knock Out Rose ®. This plant naturally grows in a globe form.
