Globosa Blue Spruce

Globosa Blue Spruce is an evergreen shrub that exhibits blue-green needles.  This evergreen grows in a globe form but has a somewhat flat top.  This shrub grows wider than it does tall.  Globosa Blue Spruce’s foliage is similar in appearance to that of the Colorado Blue Spruce.  This evergreen is a slow grower.  It prefers partial shade to full sun to thrive.

Pruning should be limited to removing dead or damaged parts of the plant. You can also selectively prune straggler branches. A complete reshaping of this plant is not necessary because of the natural form of the plant. This plant does tend to grow in a compact globe form. Most of the time this evergreen is planted as a specimen shrub.

When considering where to plant this evergreen, there are a few things to keep in mind. This evergreen is not salt tolerant, meaning that salt will cause the plant to die. Install this evergreen in an area that will not have salt used in the winter. If you are looking for a low maintenance evergreen shrub, then consider planting a Globosa Blue Spruce.
