Limelight Hydrangea

Limelight Hydrangea is a beautiful summer bloomer.  This deciduous shrub will bloom all summer long until fall.  In the fall the flowers of this Hydrangea will turn pink as cooler temperatures arrive.  Deadheading flowers will help encourage new growth and more flowers. The flowers of this plant can also be cut and used for home decor.

This shrub works well as a stand-alone plant or does well when planted as a hedge.  Limelight Hydrangea produces sturdy stems that support the massive flower clusters.  This shrub can adapt to many soil conditions but prefers well-drained soil over clay.  The soil pH does not affect the color bloom of this Hydrangea variety. If you are looking for a hydrangea that changes colors, consider the Endless Summer Hydrangea. This variety will have a color spectrum from pink to lavender-blue.

Limelight Hydrangea can reach up to eight feet tall and wide for mature plants.  If you are looking for a similar variety that does not get as large, consider the Little Lime variety.  This compact offshoot of the Limelight will give you the same beautiful flower show without all of the size.
