Wild Violets are broadleaf weeds that are medium to darker green in color. This plant has heart shaped leaves and produces small purple flowers. The flowers of this plant bloom from March to June. This plant can reach 5″ tall when it is fully mature. Wild Violet can have a tap-root or fibrous root system and can be very invasive. The plant reproduces by branching rhizomes or seeds. In turf grass this weed can be difficult to treat and may require multiple applications. Wild Violets are sometimes used as ornamental ground cover plants.
